This post is a bit off route with the museum theme and more towards the attraction side of London. I remembered visiting this place during my second month here in London and it was pretty secluded slash exclusive spot. But now Sky Garden is one of the most popular tourist attraction in London, it is considered an alternative of "The Shard". Instead of paying 40 quids to get a view from the tallest building in London the Sky Garden offers the same views with indoor garden and it's GRATIS...TIS....TIS.... (aka Free) .
Sky Garden is located nearby between Eastcheap and Fenchurch Street or Monument Station, the building itself is normal from top to middle however the top of the building has a curvy/domed shaped figure due to the balconies and rooftop ventilation. The attraction of this place is based on the name itself , visitors are able to view the city of London at a 37th floor view along with indoor garden paradise ( such a rare find in a hectic city like London) and of course cafe/bar for visitors who wants to relax and admire the stunning view.
You're probably reading this and think that you want to visit this place immediately, as it is a much better deal than The Shard. Hold your horses my friend, because this place is free in order to pass through security a booking should be made through the Sky Garden website. Just think of making a trip to Sky Garden equivalent to a fancy posh restaurant, bookings should be made at least 2 weeks before the visit with exact date and time (30 minute slots). Yes, it's not as easy as it seems there are two factors that need to be considered: your upcoming plans (date and time) and WEATHER. You know how the London weather is, one day the rain will pour like a pot of gold and the next day it's burning hot (in the summer time of course).
If you are visiting this place but would avoid the queue, I suggest make a booking to the lounge/restaurant which is much more convenient compare to waiting 2 weeks .Having a reservation would mean you can cut the line straight pronto! Average time to sight see in this garden would probably take less than an hour. Duration varies based on how many selfies with plants or glass ceilings would you take.
That's all from me.Stay Flo xx
